How wonderful it is to belong to God’s family! But do we embrace the depths of this reality? That we on earth are ‘works in progress’ in becoming Saints. That we are in communion with our sisters and brothers who have become Saints. That they are fully alive in Christ In heaven praying for us, interceding for us. That we the faithful will one day be reunited in heaven.

O Heavenly Father You shower us with Your love daily. And we praise and thank You for the beauty that surrounds us. We look forward each day to meet up with You in prayer. Your Word comforts as Your grace rejuvenates us. How wonderful it is to seek Your counsel. We worship and love You. Amen

St Simon and St Jude pray for us.

Gospel
Luke 6:12-16

Jesus went out into the hills to pray; and he spent the whole night in prayer to God. When day came he summoned his disciples and picked out twelve of them; he called them ‘apostles’: Simon whom he called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon called the Zealot, Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot who became a traitor.
