Lourdes Hymn – Immaculate Mary

Posted: August 24, 2010 by CatholicJules in Memory Book

Loved this hymn and finally I’ve got the lyrics and the song……Alleluia!

Lyrics

-Original-
Immaculate Mary, thy praises we sing;
Who reignest in splendor with Jesus our King.
Ave, ave, ave, Maria! Ave, ave, Maria!

In heaven, the blessed thy glory proclaim;
On earth we, thy children, invoke thy fair name.
Ave, ave, ave, Maria! Ave, ave, Maria!

We pray for our Mother, the Church upon earth,
And bless, dearest Lady, the land of our birth.
Ave, ave, ave, Maria! Ave, ave, Maria!

-New-

Immaculate Mary, your praises we sing;
You reign now in splendor with Jesus our King.
Ave, ave, ave, Maria! Ave, ave, Maria!

In heaven, the blessed your glory proclaim;
On earth we, your children, invoke your sweet name.
Ave, ave, ave, Maria! Ave, ave, Maria!

We pray for the Church, our true Mother on earth,
And beg you to watch o’er the land of our birth.
Ave, ave, ave, Maria! Ave, ave, Maria!

    Thanking God, for your web-site, and will say a Hail Mary, everyday for you.
    Hail Mary, full of grace.
    Our Lord is with thee.
    Blessed art thou among women,
    and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
    Jesus.
    Holy Mary, Mother of God,
    pray for us sinners,
    now and at the hour of our death.
    Amen.

    • CatholicJules says:

      Dearest Diana,

      Thank you so much for your prayers and I will pray for you too, may the Lord bless and keep you and all at home in His loving care always. Amen.

      In Christ,
      Julian

  2. JB says:

    Can you put the lyrics in French, please? I am trying to memorize the song as it’s sung in the Grotto in Lourdes and can’t find the lyrics in French! They start out “O Virgin Maria,” etc.

    • CatholicJules says:

      Sorry but strangely I cannot find it myself. I only found the Italian version.

      God bless

    • JB says:

      The first verse is mandatory – all others are optional and they change according to whatever the priest wants to sing. There are some other verses as well if you Google them. I have heard at least one verse that I cannot find anywhere, yet.

      O, Vierge Marie, le peuple chrétien
      A Lourdes vous prie, chez vous il revient.
      Ave, ave, ave Maria, ave, ave, ave Maria

      Le fond de la roche s’éclaire un instant :
      La Dame s’approche, fait signe à l’enfant
      Ave, ave, ave Maria, ave, ave, Maria

      Venez, je vous prie, ici, quinze fois,
      Avec vos amies, entendre ma voix.

      Avec insistance, la dame, trois fois,
      A dit pénitence. Chrétien, c’est pour toi!

      À cette fontaine venez et buvez;
      Dans l’eau pure et Sainte allez-vous laver.

      Je veux qu’ici même, au pied de ces monts,
      Le peuple que j’aime vienne eu en procession.

      Et qu’une chapelle bâtie en ce lieu
      Aux hommes rappelle qu’il faut prier Dieu.

      Marie est venue chez nous, dix-huit fois;
      L’enfant qui l’a vue est digne de foi.

      La grotte où l’on prie, dispense la paix;
      C’est là que Marie répand ses bienfaits.

      On voit la fontaine, couler sans tarir,
      Et la foule humaine passer sans finir.

      Aux grâces nouvelles, sachons obéir.
      Car Dieu nous appelle à nous convertir.

  4. Daniel Teo says:

    How do I go about it if I want to purchase a Hi-res image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary as in the image above. Also I need to purchase the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the same design.

    Please advise.

    Thank you and God Bless.

      Hi Daniel, I suppose you can try uploading it to an online printing site like vistaprint? Or see if it’s available at your nearest Catholic store.

      God bless,

    Here the indonesian version
    Di Lourdes di gua sunyi terpencil
    Tampaklah Maria perawan murni
    Ave ave ave Maria 2x
    Gadis bersahaja dipilih Tuhan
    Berhadapan muka dengan Ibunda – Reff
    Perawan Maria molek bestari
    Bermandi cahaya kemilau indah
    Ave ave ave Maria 2x
    Wajahnya yang manis bersunting senyum
    Pakaiannya putih berikat biru
    Ave ave ave Maria 2x
    Pesan amat penting disampaikannya
    Bertapalah bagi orang berdosa
    Ave ave ave Maria
    Berkata Perawan lembut yang ramah
    Aku yang dikandung tidak bernoda
    Ave ave ave Maria 2x
    Tersingkap di Lourdes warta gembira
    Ibu surga cinta kita di bumi
    Ave ave ave Maria 2x

    Immaculate Mary, your praises we sing;
    You reign now in splendor with Jesus our King.

    Refrain:
    Ave, ave, ave, Maria!
    Ave, ave, Maria!

    Predestined for Christ by eternal decree,
    God willed you both virgin and mother to be. (Refrain)

    To you by an angel, the Lord God made known
    The grace of the Spirit, the gift of the Son. (Refrain)

    Most blest of all women, you heard and believed,
    Most blest in the fruit of your womb then conceived. (Refrain)

    The angels rejoice when you brought forth God’s Son;
    Your joy is the joy of all ages to come. (Refrain)

    Your child is the Savior, all hope lies in him;
    He gives us new life and redeems us from sin. (Refrain)

    In glory for ever now close to your Son,
    All ages will praise you for all God has done. (Refrain)

    Interesting blog, it reminds me of Lourdes , pilgrims may visit Lourdes to be cleansed of their sins and to be cured of their illnesses.
