Apart from Jesus, we have many stories just like in today’s Gospel when Tabitha rises from the dead at the command of St Peter. There are even testimonies of resurrection taking place in Mozambique and other remote areas in Africa and the rest of the world? How is it possible? Shouldn’t the question actually be how is it Not possible?
The Lord Himself had told us….”The words I have spoken to you are spirit
and they are life.” Therefore in the power of our Lord’s Jesus resurrection, through the Holy Spirit we can speak life into any situation. Therefore we must ourselves are we filled with the consolation of the Holy Spirit as we should be? Are we living our faith according to our Lord’s will for us?
Lord Jesus You have the message of eternal life, we believe and follow after You. For You truly are the Holy One of God our Heavenly Father. Amen Alleluia!

The churches grew and were filled with the consolation of the Holy Spirit
The churches throughout Judaea, Galilee and Samaria were now left in peace, building themselves up, living in the fear of the Lord, and filled with the consolation of the Holy Spirit.
Peter visited one place after another and eventually came to the saints living down in Lydda. There he found a man called Aeneas, a paralytic who had been bedridden for eight years. Peter said to him, ‘Aeneas, Jesus Christ cures you: get up and fold up your sleeping mat.’ Aeneas got up immediately; everybody who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they were all converted to the Lord.
At Jaffa there was a woman disciple called Tabitha, or Dorcas in Greek, who never tired of doing good or giving in charity. But the time came when she got ill and died, and they washed her and laid her out in a room upstairs. Lydda is not far from Jaffa, so when the disciples heard that Peter was there, they sent two men with an urgent message for him, ‘Come and visit us as soon as possible.’
Peter went back with them straightaway, and on his arrival they took him to the upstairs room, where all the widows stood round him in tears, showing him tunics and other clothes Dorcas had made when she was with them. Peter sent them all out of the room and knelt down and prayed. Then he turned to the dead woman and said, ‘Tabitha, stand up.’ She opened her eyes, looked at Peter and sat up. Peter helped her to her feet, then he called in the saints and widows and showed them she was alive. The whole of Jaffa heard about it and many believed in the Lord.

Who shall we go to? You are the Holy One of God
After hearing his doctrine many of the followers of Jesus said, ‘This is intolerable language. How could anyone accept it?’ Jesus was aware that his followers were complaining about it and said, ‘Does this upset you? What if you should see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before?
‘It is the spirit that gives life,
the flesh has nothing to offer.
The words I have spoken to you are spirit
and they are life.
‘But there are some of you who do not believe.’ For Jesus knew from the outset those who did not believe, and who it was that would betray him. He went on, ‘This is why I told you that no one could come to me unless the Father allows him.’ After this, many of his disciples left him and stopped going with him.
Then Jesus said to the Twelve, ‘What about you, do you want to go away too?’ Simon Peter answered, ‘Lord, who shall we go to? You have the message of eternal life, and we believe; we know that you are the Holy One of God.’

What Are We To Do? Scott Hahn Reflects on the Fourth Sunday in Easter
Readings:
Acts 2:14, 36–41

Easter’s empty tomb is a call to conversion.
By this tomb, we should know for certain that God has made Jesus both Lord and Messiah, as Peter preaches in today’s First Reading.
He is the “Lord,” the divine Son that David foresaw at God’s right hand (see Psalms 110:1, 3; 132:10–11; Acts 2:34). And He is the Messiah that God had promised to shepherd the scattered flock of the house of Israel (see Ezekiel 34:11–14, 23; 37:24).
As we hear in today’s Gospel, Jesus is that Good Shepherd, sent to a people who were like sheep without a shepherd (see Mark 6:34; Numbers 27:16–17). He calls not only to the children of Israel but to all those far off from Him—to whomever the Lord wishes to hear His voice.
The call of the Good Shepherd leads to the restful waters of Baptism, to the anointing oil of Confirmation, and to the table and overflowing cup of the Eucharist, as we sing in today’s Psalm.
Again on this Sunday in Easter, we hear His voice calling us His own. He should awaken in us the response of those who heard Peter’s preaching. “What are we to do?” they cried.
We have been baptized. But each of us goes astray like sheep, as we hear in today’s Epistle. We still need daily to repent, to seek forgiveness of our sins, to separate ourselves further from this corrupt generation.
We are called to follow in the footsteps of the Shepherd of our souls. By His suffering He bore our sins in His body to free us from sin. But His suffering is also an example for us. From Him we should learn patience in our afflictions, to hand ourselves over to the will of God.
Jesus has gone ahead, has driven us through the dark valley of evil and death. His Cross has become the narrow gate through which we must pass to reach His empty tomb—the verdant pastures of life abundant.

They Saw and Believed: Scott Hahn Reflects on Easter Sunday Readings: Acts 10:34, 37–43 Psalm 118:1–2, 16–17, 22–23 Colossians 3:1–4 John 20:1–9 Jesus is nowhere visible. Yet, today’s Gospel tells us that Peter and John “saw and believed.” What did they see? Burial shrouds lying on the floor of an empty tomb. Maybe that convinced them that He hadn’t been carted off by grave robbers, who usually stole the expensive burial linens and left the corpses behind. But notice the repetition of the word “tomb”—seven times in nine verses. They saw the empty tomb and they believed what He had promised: that God would raise Him on the third day.

They know what they were hoping for—that He would be the redeemer of Israel. But they don’t know what to make of His violent death at the hands of their rulers.

O, Djevice blagoslovljena više od svakoga stvorenja, sav sam tvoj i sve moje tvoje je. Molim te da tvoja duša danas bude u meni da bih dostojno mogao slaviti Gospodina i tvoj duh neka bude u meni da kličem u Bogu. O, vjerna Djevice, utisni se kao pečat ljubavi u moju dušu tako da u tebi i po tebi mognem ostati vjeran mom Bogu.
O, Majko dobrote, molim te za milost da danas budem među onima koje ti ljubiš, podučavaš, hraniš, vodiš i štitiš kao svoju djecu. O, Kraljice neba, neka u meni ne bude ništa što nije pod tvojom vlašću. Ako nešto u meni ne pripada tebi, ovdje i sad se toga odričem i tebi to prikazujem. O, kćeri Kralja nad kraljevima, čiji je najveći sjaj u tvojoj nutrini, ne dopusti da se raspršim hodeći za vidljivim i prolaznim stvarima ovoga svijeta, nego da po preobilju milosti prebivam u dubini svoje duše, da tu pronalazim Boga, svoju radost, sreću, blago, čast, slavu i odmor.
Neka po djelovanju Duha Svetoga, tvoga vjernog zaručnika, čija si ti vjerna zaručnica, u našim srcima bude savršeno oblikovan tvoj ljubljeni Sin, na veću slavu Boga Oca, u vijeke vjekova. Amen.

Temine, ki včasih prekrivajo nebo vaših duš, so luč: zaradi njih ste prepričani, da ste v temi in imate vtis, da se nahajate sredi gorečega grma. Ko namreč grm gori, se zrak okrog njega napolni z dimom in zmedeni duh se boji, da ne bi videl, da ne bi več ničesar razumel. Toda takrat je Bog duši navzoč in ji govori: duša pa sliši, razume, ljubi in trepeta. Ne čakajte torej na Tabor, da bi videli Boga, ko ste ga že gledali na Sinaju! (GF, 174).
Mörker som ibland täcker dina själars himmel är ljus: de får dig att tro att du är i mörkret och känns som att du är mitt i en brinnande buske. När busken brinner fylls luften runt den med rök och den förvirrade anden är rädd att inte se, förstår ingenting längre. Men då är Gud närvarande för själen och talar till den; men själen hör, förstår, älskar och darrar. Så vänta inte på att lägret ska se Gud, när du redan sett honom på Sinai! (GF, 174)

Helgon: Katarina av Siena jungfru och kyrkolärare
Född i Siena 1347. Redan som flicka anslöt hon sig till domininikanordens lekmannagren. Brinnande av kärlek till Gud och nästan verkade hon för fred, påvens återvändande från Avignon och förnyelse av ordenslivet. Dog år 1380. K. och Teresa av Åvila är de hittills enda två kvinnliga kyrkolärarna.
Dagens bön:
Fader i himlen, när den heliga Katarina betraktade Kristi lidande, greps hon av glödande kärlek till honom och hans kyrka. Låt oss på hennes förbön leva av Kristi mysterium, tjäna honom i hans kyrka och jubla över att hans härlighet skall uppenbaras.

Mina kära: detta är det budskap som vi har hört av Jesus Kristus och förkunnar för er: att Gud är ljus och att inget mörker finns i honom. Om vi säger att vi har gemenskap med honom men vandrar i mörkret, ljuger vi och handlar inte efter sanningen. Men om vi vandrar i ljuset, liksom han är i ljuset, då har vi gemenskap med varandra, och blodet från Jesus, hans son, renar oss från all synd. Om vi säger att vi är utan synd, bedrar vi oss själva, och sanningen finns inte i oss. Om vi bekänner våra synder, är han trofast och rättfärdig, så att han förlåter oss synderna och renar oss från all orättfärdighet. Om vi säger att vi inte har syndat, gör vi honom till lögnare, och hans ord finns inte i oss.
Mina barn, detta skriver jag till er för att ni inte skall synda. Men om någon syndar, har vi en som för vår talan inför Fadern, Jesus Kristus som är rättfärdig. Han är det offer som sonar våra synder och inte bara våra utan hela världens.
