Divine Appointment

Posted: December 12, 2025 by CatholicJules in Life's Journeys, Testimonies

From our hotel room we have an aerial view of the church. Anyhow during the Eucharist celebration I received the Eucharist from an  elegantly dressed Eucharist minister wearing a headpiece. After mass we had breakfast at a coffee shop across the road from church. About ten minutes later the lady Eucharistic minister with her husband sat at a table beside us. At first her husband asked to seat at a different table, but I saw her motioning to him to sit at the table beside us. I took it as a sign from our Lord.

“Peace be with you” I said looking at her. She smiled and replied with the same greeting. I introduced myself and told her we were from St Anthony’s Parish in Singapore. She introduced herself as Tina and her husband’s name is Vincent.  I asked if everything was okay with her pointing discreetly to her headpiece. She shared that she was going for chemotherapy and had stage 2/3 breast cancer. I asked it if was okay if I prayed for her. She got up and turned in my direction. Told her to please sit while I placed my hands on her shoulders and prayed for her healing amongst other things. Her face lit up and was profoundly grateful. She felt blessed as did we for the divine appointment.

Told her that we would attend mass again tomorrow and hope to see her again. Must remember to take a wefie if we do.

Praise the Lord! ❤️

On Today’s Gospel

Posted: December 12, 2025 by CatholicJules in Personal Thoughts & Reflections

Today, we are called to deeply reflect. Are we obedient children of God, our Heavenly Father, following His word and His will for us in these challenging times? If we are, then our happiness will flow like a river, and our integrity will be as constant as the waves.

So, let us consider how fulfilled we are in our lives. True fulfillment comes from our relationship with and standing in the presence of the Lord, our God.

Lord, fill me to the brim with Your graces. Allow me to minister to all those You send my way, with boldness and integrity. Amen.

Our Lady of Guadalupe pray for us..

Isaiah 48:17-19 ·

If you had been alert to my commandments, your happiness would have been like a river

Thus says the Lord, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:

I, the Lord, your God, teach you what is good for you,
I lead you in the way that you must go.
If only you had been alert to my commandments,
your happiness would have been like a river, your integrity like the waves of the sea.
Your children would have been numbered like the sand, your descendants as many as its grains.
Never would your name have been cut off or blotted out before me.

Gospel
Matthew 11:16-19

They heed neither John nor the Son of Man

Jesus spoke to the crowds: ‘What description can I find for this generation? It is like children shouting to each other as they sit in the market place:

“We played the pipes for you,
and you wouldn’t dance;
we sang dirges,
and you wouldn’t be mourners.”

‘For John came, neither eating nor drinking, and they say, “He is possessed.” The Son of Man came, eating and drinking, and they say, “Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.” Yet wisdom has been proved right by her actions.’
