A little On Church Unity
————————————-
Do we stop loving the priest and Levite who walked past the man in need of help? Do we stop loving the elder brother who refused to join in the celebration of the homecoming of his younger brother? Do we stop loving the nine lepers who offered no thanks? Do we stop loving Simon who was critical of Mary being a sinner in his house?

Would Jesus stop loving any of these? Whom did He come for?

And yet we ourselves are often critical of them? For their lack of love, their lack of faith? Have we forgotten that we were perhaps at one time or another very much like some of them?

So we should never be discouraged with the attitude of those still very new in their journey nor should we walk away on our own from our Church family.

Flawed as we are, sinners that we are, we are loved and blessed our Heavenly Father who sent His Son Jesus to break the bonds that scatter us. We are united and can stand united through Him alone.

Let us pay heed to what the Lord had spoken to us through His word….

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:11

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Romans 12:16

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:24-25

For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:4-5

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.
1 Corinthians 1:10

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. Romans 16:17

Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. Romans 14:1

For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 1 Corinthians 12:13

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had. Romans 15:5

Amen
